I am a 9 time Crappie Classic Qualifier and have been fishing Bear Creek for 15 plus years. On occasion I have caught Bass and won a few local Bass tournaments. Catfishing is mainly by jug fishing. As a rule I am not too good catching Bass, don't like to Catfish, but I can catch Crappie in Indian Creek any day of the year that I choose to go. The reason for all this useless information is for you to consider the source of this information and use it as you see fit.

General Information: Indian Creek is capable of producing excellent stringers of all species of fish. Crappie tournaments and Bass tournaments have been won out of Indian Creek more than once. The water depth in Indian Creek is generally deep. I consider anything below 12 feet deep water. I have watched people catch and on occasion I have even caught a few bass along the shores of this creek. Crappie fishing is very good here as well as Catfishing and Stripers.

1. COLEMAN PARK BOAT RAMP: This is a very good ramp to launch from and has fuel dock at the ramp. Limited parking is available here and at certain times of the year or during tournaments parking can be a potential problem. Campground entrance and all facilities at this ramp. Covered boat stalls, but you may have to wait in line for these.

2. COLEMAN PARK CAMPGROUND: Excellent campground very well kept and lots of spots on the water. Boat ramp is also available.

3. COLEMAN PARK CAMPGROUND AREA: Coleman Park is one of Mississippi's best and most beautiful state parks. Cabins, RV camping, tent camping, motel, swimming pool and lots of other activities in the park.

4. Lots of good fishing in this area. There is deep water with sharp drops. Several of the changes in depths will hold good crappie and bass all year.

5. I have caught lots of crappie along this area. The depth is usually 22 feet and has a gradual incline up to about 10 feet or less. This is more of a flat area with a few minor drops. Fishing this area is better in the spring pre spawn.

6. fishing the side toward the middle of the creek is the best here. Very close to the bank with some good drops. Along the lower end the water depth begins to shallow rapidly and moves toward the middle. This is a good place to catch some good stringers of crappie during the pre spawn, spawn and post spawn.

7. I have seen bass caught at this particular spot more than once. Don't know exactly what is there but there is a sharp deep drop at this point very close to the break wall built by the marina.

8. I have caught bass around this point. No monsters but a few in the 2 to 4 pound range.

9. Good Bass can be caught along the shore line here. Staying about 30 yards out and casting into the bank can have some surprising results.

10. If you can find the points between these two humps you can catch several species of fish here. I have harvested some good crappie and occasionally a bass and catfish also. Mainly I fish for crappie. This spot is difficult to find. You can see it better on one of the local lake maps. Another problem here is the weather, the river can get pretty bad for fishing at times.
