Pickwick Sauger Festival - Usually held at the Pickwick Dam.  A one day tournament with awards presented to the winners.  Entry fees are required for the participants.  More information by calling 901-925-2364.

Annual Living History Demonstration - Shiloh National Military Park.  Civil War reenactors demonstrate military tactics, medical techniques and camp life.  Free with Shiloh NMP admission.   Held the weekend closest to the anniversary of the battle.  For more information 901-689-5696 or 800-552-3866.

Bufford Pusser Festival - Annual festival to honor the late Sheriff Bufford Pusser.  Arts and crafts, antique car show, 5k run, softball tournament, food and games.  Buford Pusser Park in Adamsville, Tennessee.  No admission.  For more information 901-632-4080.

4th of July Fireworks - Annual display of fireworks over Pickwick Landing State Park.  No admission, donations accepted.  For more information 901-689-3129

National Catfish Derby - A six-week fishing rodeo celebrating the "Catfish Capital of the World."  Events include the Catfish Derby Fair, a catfish and hushpuppy cookoff, biggest catfish contest and the World Championship of Catfishing.  Tennessee River and several other locations.  Entry fee for fishing rodeo, admission charges for some events.  For more information 901-925-8094 or 800-552-3866.

Shiloh River Day - Celebration of Saltillo's river heritage, including a parade, cloggers, entertainment, bands, street dance, arts & crafts, Civil War encampment and contests.  Saltillo.  Free. For more information 901-687-3697.

Christmas Activities - There are several parades and activities that take place in various communities near Christmas.  Contact the Hardin County Tourism board for the latest information.  800-552-3866.

Country Christmas - Annual musical benefit for area children held at the Hardin County High School.  Admission charge and donations accepted.  For more information 901-925-3296 or 800-552-3366.

Victorian Christmas Celebration - Come see Savannah decorated in all its Christmas splendor as the historic district and downtown area are decorated and lighted for the Christmas season.   Take a guided tour of the luminary-lit historic district with Father Christmas.  Enjoy carriage rides and historic homes tours.  Attend the official tree lighting on Court Square and the Community Chorus performance.   For more information 901-925-6410 or 800-552-FUNN.

Theater Activities

The Dreamweavers of West Tennessee produce several performances each year...comedy, drama, musicals and more, using local actors.  The performances are held at the Savannah Theater behind the courthouse in Savannah.

Bluegrass music can be heard all over Hardin County and several music festivals are held in Hardin and McNairy Counties, including the Tennessee River Bluegrass Festival each July 4th weekend.

Delta Queen Steamboat Company

Fishing Tournaments
